Blocked Drains

Most people who own or rent a home will be burdened by a blocked drain sometime in their lives.

What causes a blocked drain? Tree roots working their way through small cracks or joints of your drain is the most common problem.

I am always asked if there is a magic solution to remedy this problem. Unfortunately, "off the shelf" products in supermarkets do not work from my experience. Not only do they waste your money but they are bad for the environment. They are especially bad for septic tanks as they can kill bacteria inside that break down your solids.

We do offer a small range of solutions to clear fatty or oil filled drains, but these need to be used with extreme caution. I have heard of cracked toilet pans, facial burns and the melting of drain pipes. Please, if you have a blocked drain, leave the job to a qualified trades person who knows the correct procedures.
